History & Culture

Named after the summer residence of President Grover Cleveland, Cleveland Park is recognized for its architectural diversity and showcases exquisite examples of Craftsman, Queen Anne, Tudor Revival and Dutch Colonial Revival homes from the 19th and 20th centuries. At the time, this neighborhood was quite removed from D.C. and considered a great summer escape with it’s higher elevation, fresh air, and scenic wooded landscape. Though time has passed and it’s now an important and integrated part of the district, Cleveland Park still attracts people from all over.

The historic Uptown Theatre is a treat to enjoy with its Art Deco design- it’s like traveling back into time. If you love exotic wildlife and take pleasure in the outdoors, the National Zoo is perfect entertainment. Moments away is the breathtaking National Cathedral as well as the trendy Dupont Circle and fanciful Georgetown neighborhoods. It truly has that something special to offer everyone.
